Uses for XML |
What is XHTML? XHTML is just HTML 4 rewritten under XML rules. But what exactly does that mean? |
XHTML Modules XHTML has been divided into modules for use in wireless devices and other locations. These modules mean that you can use just the markup that you need. |
XForms If you've been building Web pages for a while, chances are you have used, or are planning to use forms. HTML forms allow you to create dynamic pages that include information that your readers provide. They can also collect data from customers to provide services or ecommerce. But with the advent of XML and XHTML, it is now clear that HTML forms have some severe limitations. |
XPath XPath is a language designed to address specific parts of an XML document. |
XLink Unlike HTML, XML does not have a default method for linking objects. With the XML Linking Language, or XLink, you can insert elements within XML documents to create and describe links between resources. But the syntax of links was inspired by HTML and is, in fact, compatible with HTML links. |
More XML Applications There are many applications created with XML. Everything from wireless applications to phone tree support. You might be amazed by what can be done with XML. |
